About this Blog

My name is Erin Harrison and I spent 2014 on the Rotary Youth Exchange program in Mexico. As a young adult from the suburbs of Perth, Western Australia, I had the opportunity to live a life in a foreign country for a year, not something that everyone gets to experience.

With an adventurous mind and an ambition to learn, I applied to the Rotary Club of Willetton to be sponsored for the Youth Exchange program. It was with out a doubt, one of the best decisions I have made. Most of my friends think that what I did was scary considering I was away for a year and had no classes in Spanish before leaving. It was at times challenging but the anticipation and nerves in the months leading up and during the two day plane trip were worth it.

I stayed in Boca del Rio which is in the state of Veracruz. I repeated the final year in Spanish at a high school there. During my year in Mexico, I ate lots of food, made lots of friends, became fluent in Spanish and had an unforgettable time.

I also have a Facebook page set up at www.facebook.com/aussieinmexico with complimentary content. I hope you enjoy reading about my amazing adventure. Happy reading!
